The International Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) Association Continues to Grow Stronger
Established on May 31, 2019, the International Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) Association continues its activities without interruption with the aim of promoting secure trade practices and contributing to the effective use of AEO Status across the sector. The journey that began with five founding members continues today with a strong structure of 80 members, and the association has achieved an effective position internationally with its domestic and foreign representatives.
Despite all the difficulties experienced during the COVID-19 pandemic, the association continued its work without interruption, conducting its activities via digital platforms during this period; training sessions, meetings, and information activities were successfully carried out online. With the normalization process, the association has resumed its face-to-face events and aims to further strengthen solidarity within the sector.
The UYYSD Academy, established within the association, stands out for its professional development and regulatory training programs for companies. Through the Academy, comprehensive training programs are offered on facilitating customs procedures, compliance processes with foreign trade regulations, and the criteria that companies must meet under the AEO Status. This significantly contributes to businesses being able to trade faster, more reliably, and in compliance with regulations within the Turkish Customs Territory.
The Yeşil Hat (Green Line) Magazine, published to share current developments and important news in the sector with its members, is an important part of the association's mission to share information. Through the magazine, innovations in customs and foreign trade, regulatory changes, and sectoral analyses are shared with a wide audience.
One of the important steps that further strengthened the association's institutional structure was the Elective Ordinary General Assembly Meeting held on Saturday, February 7. At the general assembly, following the formation of the Board of Directors, the estimated budget for the new term was submitted for approval, the board of directors' activity reports were read, and the association's new management bodies were elected. The meeting concluded with members sharing their opinions and wishes.
As a result of the general assembly, Mr. Mehmet Altay Yegin was elected as Chairman of the Board of Directors; Mr. Ömer Yürü, Ms. Aysun Yılmaz, Ms. Nuray Karabıyık, Ms. Elif Ata Erduran, Ms. Elçin Can İnal, Mr. Nida Karabulut, Mr. Nihat Yılmaz, Mr. Ahmet Sultan Şahin, Mr. Ahmet Bora Apuhan, Ms. Melike Köksal, and Mr. Andaç Özsoy were appointed as members of the Board of Directors.
